Schematic of the Inclination SensorThis diagnostic code is recorded when the "Advisor" ECM cannot receive data off the CAN Data Link from the sensor. The ECM expects to receive information from the CAN Data Link at a specific rate.Possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The voltage for the inclination sensor is faulty or missing.
The inclination sensor is faulty or the sensor is not functioning correctly.
The "Advisor" ECM has failed. This is unlikely.Test Step 1. CHECK THE INPUT VOLTAGE OF THE SENSOR.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Do NOT start the tractor.
Remove the floorplate.Note: Ensure that the tractor has cooled. Avoid contact with the manifold.
Disconnect the 4-pin connector for the sensor.
Measure the voltage across contact A (wire 133-OR) and contact F (wire 202-BK) of the sensor.Expected Result:The voltage that is measured is between 18 DCV and 32 DCV.Results:
YES - The voltage that is measured is between 18 DCV and 32 DCV. The sensor is receiving the correct voltage. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The sensor is NOT receiving input voltage. Verify that the connector for the sensor and the harness are correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE.
The engine should not be running.
At the battery, measure the voltage of the battery.Expected Result:The voltage that is measured is between 18 and 32.5 DCV.Results:
YES - The voltage that is measured is between 18 and 32.5 DCV. The voltage is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The voltage that is measured is less than 18 DCV. The voltage is NOT correct. The Battery is faulty or there is an open in the circuit between the battery and the sensor.Repair: Check the charging system. See Troubleshooting, "Charging System".Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. When proper voltage signals have been restored to the system, proceed to Test Step 3. Test Step 3. CHECK THE TERMINATION RESISTOR.
De-energize the system.
The 4-pin connector for the sensor remains disconnected.
Measure the resistance across contact 3 (wire F711-GN) and contact 4 (wire F712-GY).Expected Result:The resistance that is measured is 60 10 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance that is measured is 60 10 ohms. Repeat this Test Step. If the results repeat, proceed to Test Step 4.
NO - The resistance that is measured is NOT 60 10 ohms. The "Termination Resistor" has failed or the "Termination Resistor" is faulty.Repair: Repair the "Termination Resistor"or replace the "Termination Resistor". Proceed to Test Step 4. Test Step 4. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE IS STILL ACTIVE.
Inspect the contacts and clean the contacts of the harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connectors.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Operate the machine.
Determine if the CID 0871 FMI 09 diagnostic code is active.Expected Result:The CID 0871 FMI 09 diagnostic code is no longer active. Results:
YES - The CID 0871 FMI 09 is no longer active. The problem does not exist at this time. Repair: The initial diagnostic code was probably caused by a poor electrical connection or a
