Illustration 1 g02736237Note: Lubricate the seals, wear rings, O-ring seals, and the cylinder wall with clean oil.
Install wear ring (9), seal (10), and wear ring (11) onto piston (8).
Install piston (8).
Install O-ring seal (13) and backup ring (12) onto head (14).
Install O-ring seal (6) and backup ring (7) onto head (5).
Use Tooling (A) to install head (5) and head (14). Tighten head (5) and head (14) to a torque of 300 15 N m (220 11 lb ft).
Install valve (4). Tighten valve (4) to a torque of 45 7 N m (33 5 lb ft).
Charge the accumulator. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Accumulator (Cushion Hitch) - Test and Charge".
Install cap (3). Tighten cap (3) to a torque of 1.5 N m (13 lb in) .
Install gas valve protector (2) and bolts (1).End By:
Install the cushion-hitch accumulator.
