Separate the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate" for the machine that is being serviced.
Personal injury or death can result from falling track.Separating a track can cause the track to fall too fast.Before doing any service work which requires separating a track, a thorough inspection of the front track roller frame must be made.The tractor must be on a hard, level surface before the track roller frame is removed.See Special Instruction SMHS8273 for further information.

Lift the side of the machine until the track rollers are above the track links. Install Tooling (A) .

Install Tooling (B) in order to support the weight of the front of the track roller frame.
Remove bolts and sprocket segment (1) .

Remove bolt (3) and the washer that holds pin assembly (2) in place.

Pull pin assembly (2) partly out of the track roller frame by using Tooling (C) .

Remove pin assembly (2) from the track roller frame.

Remove bolts (4) that hold cover (5) to the track roller frame.
Use two 5/8 inch - 11 NC forcing screws (4) to remove cover (5). Remove the O-ring seal from the cover.

Install Tooling (F) in order to hold front track roller frame (7) in position in the rear track roller frame.
Install Tooling (D) and Tooling (E), as shown. Fasten a hoist to track roller frame (6) and remove Tooling (B) .
Remove bolts (8) and plate (9). Remove track roller frame (6) from the machine. The weight of the track roller frame is 1748 kg (3850 lb).

Remove seal (11) from pivot shaft (10) .

Remove bearings (12) and (13) from track roller frame (6), if necessary.
