Before stopping the engine, operate it at low idle for 5 minutes. This procedure allows hot areas in the engine to cool gradually, extending the engine life. It also allows the turbocharger (if equipped) to slow down, so that it will not continue to turn without lubrication.To stop the engine, use one of the methods following that applies to the shutoff system on your engine.1. Turn the key to the OFF position, or2. Pull out the manual shutoff control, or3. Move the governor control lever (throttle) past the detent to the FUEL-OFF position.Make sure the shutoff procedure is understood. Refer to the operating instructions supplied with your equipment.
