or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The engine can start automatically. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

Using Tooling (A) to remove fuel filters (12). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Secondary Filter - Replace" for the correct procedure.
Loosen bolt (18) from the clip. Remove the clip from tube assembly (5).
Remove bolt (17) from the clip. Remove the clip from tube assembly (5).
Remove bolts (6) from the clips. Remove the clips from tube assembly (5).
Disconnect tube assembly (5) from secondary fuel filter base (10) and fuel priming pump (8). Use Tooling (B) cap connections on the secondary fuel filter base and the fuel priming pump.
Use Tooling (B) to cap tube assembly (5).
Remove O-ring seal (4) (not shown) and O-ring seal (7) (not shown) from the connections on secondary fuel filter base (10) and fuel priming pump (8).
Disconnect the tube nut on tube assembly (16) on secondary fuel filter base (10).
Cut cable strap (2). Disconnect harness assembly (1) from oil pressure sensor (3).
Disconnect harness assembly (14) from oil pressure sensor (15).
Remove bolts (9) from secondary fuel filter base (10). Remove the secondary fuel filter base from bracket (11).
Use Tooling (B) to cap tube assembly (16).
Remove O-ring seal (13) (not shown). Use Tooling (B) to cap connection on secondary fuel filter base (10).

If necessary, follow Step 2.i through Step 16.g in order to disassemble the secondary fuel filter head (7).
Remove outlet fuel pressure sensor (19). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Pressure Sensor (Secondary Duplex Outlet Fuel Pressure Sensor) - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove check valve (20). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Check Valve - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove inlet fuel pressure sensor (25). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Pressure Sensor (Secondary Duplex Inlet Fuel Pressure Sensor) - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove check valve (26). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Check Valve - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Make temporary marks on elbow connection (21). Remove the elbow connection from secondary fuel filter head (10). Remove O-ring seal (22) (not shown).
Make temporary marks on elbow connection (23). Remove the elbow connection from secondary fuel filter head (10). Remove O-ring seal (24) (not shown).
Make temporary marks on elbow connection (27). Loosen lock nut (28) and remove the elbow connection from fuel filter head (10). Remove O-ring seal (29) (not shown). Installation Procedure
Ensure that the secondary fuel filter base is clean and free from damage. If necessary, replace the complete secondary fuel filter base and filter assembly.

If necessary, follow Step 2.a through Step 2.i in order to assemble the secondary fuel filter head (10).
Install a new O-ring seal (29) (not shown) to elbow connection (27). Install the elbow connection to fuel filter head
