Inspect the length of the 280-2023 Hose, which is part of the valve mechanism cover group. Measure the hose length that protrudes past the 7C-1281 Bracket. There should be no more than 50mm of hose length that protrudes from the bottom of the 7C-1281 Bracket. If there is more than 50mm of hose length extending past the bottom of the bracket, cut off any excess hose past 50mm.

MODELS INVOLVED - 924H, 924HZ, 928H, and 930H Wheel Loaders

The crankcase breather hose needs to be inspected on the products listed below. The existing hose, if too long, may become restricted, causing pressurization of the crankcase breather system, resulting in turbocharger failure and crankshaft seal leakage. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 27Feb2012 when scheduling this service.
