Oil leaks between the two shaft seals of the 187-9090 Piston Pump Gp . The shaft seals leak and then the oil comes out of the weep hole. No determination has been made whether the leak is on the engine side shaft seal or the hydraulic side shaft seal.Solution
Be sure not to disassemble the brake charging pump if there is a shaft seal leak. Return the pump as is so the pump can be examined and determine which shaft seal is leaking. An Auto Recall is in place to return the 187-9090 Piston Pump Gp or the 189-4720 Shaft Seal . The recall is to determine the cause for a shaft seal leak. If possible, collect an oil sample of the leaking oil and include any SOS reports with the pump that is being returned. Use existing pump for replacement until a permanent solution is found.
