ADAPTER 0980218 - Caterpillar

1 Weld plate (1) to the left side of the radiator guard with .19" (4.8) fillet welds (A), 1.50" (38.1) long on three sides as shown. On later machines, bolt plate (1) to the radiator guard. 2 Remove cover (2). Install switch assembly (3), with two nuts and lockwashers. Connect one of the wires on switch (3) to the yellow and brown wire (4) on harness (5). Connect the other wire on switch (3) to wire (6). Fasten wire (6) to bolt (B) as shown. Install magnet (7) with two nuts as shown. Adjust magnet (7) to .25" (6.3) from switch (3), when the forward-reverse lever is in the reverse position. 3 Install grommet (8). Install wiring harness (9) and fasten it with seven straps (10). Bolt alarm (11) to plate (1); push the black wires through grommet (8) and connect one wire to red wire (12) and the other wire to yellow and brown wire (13). At the other end of harness (9), connect yellow and brown wire (13) to the yellow and brown wire in harness (5). Install a fuse in holder (14) and connect red wire (15) to starter solenoid (16).
