Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bolts (1) and plate assembly (2).
Illustration 2 g06264720Note: Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8231, "Removal Procedures for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Connectors" for the correct removal procedure of hose assemblies (3).
Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (4).

Cut straps (5) and disconnect harness assembly (6).

Remove screws (7), manifold (8), and the gasket.

Loosen clamp (10) and remove filter (9).

Remove screws (12) and filter kit (11).

Remove filter (13).Installation Procedure
Install the manifold in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten clamp (9) to a torque of 4.5 0.7 N m (39.8 6.2 lb in).
Tighten screws (7) in sequence one through six to a torque of 5 1 N m (44 9 lb in). Again tighten screws (7) in sequence one through six to a torque of 5 1 N m (44 9 lb in).
