PROBLEM
The C32 50Hz Generator Set package uses a fan drive configuration that has an inadequate number of belts. During normal operation the belts may slip, thus causing belt failure.

Remove the existing 4N6423 3-belt set and replace with the 6N0388 4-Belt Set. No other fan drive group modifications are required.

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
The following rework procedure should be followed to properly replace the fan drive belt set:
1. Shutdown and lock-out the generator set using standard operating procedures.
2. Remove the top and bottom radiator fan guards.
3. Remove the fan.
Be careful not to damage the radiator core during removal.
4. Remove the top and side fan drive pulley/belt guards.
5. Loosen the fan drive bracket bolts.
6. Loosen the fan drive bracket tensioner lock-nut and lower the bracket using the tensioner bolt enough to remove the existing fan belts.
7. Install the new belt set. If needed, lower the fan drive bracket an additional amount using the tensioner bolt.
8. Tighten the new belt set to specification using the tensioner bolt.
9. Tighten tensioner lock-nut.
10. Tighten the fan drive bracket bolts to specification.
11. Install the fan drive pulley/belt guards, fan, and fan guards.
