(9) Pressure tap for the raise.
The pressure tap (9) for the pressure in the raise circuit is located on the manifold. The manifold is located on the back of the front frame near the articulation hitch. The line relief valve only functions for the head end circuit of the lift cylinders.
If the lift arms drop during loading, the pressure relief valve is adjusted too low. If the pressure relief setting is too low, the cycle time for lifting the bucket may be lower than the specified range. Use the procedure below to check the line relief valve.
The pressure setting of the relief valves in the head end of the lift circuit is higher than the setting of the main relief valve. Because of this higher pressure setting, an 8S-8033 Electric Hydraulic Pump must be used to test the head end line relief valves of the lift cylinders. The procedure for using the hydraulic pump is explained here.
Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Ensure that the bucket is on the ground. Remove the loader tower access panel from the front frame.
Install one end of the 6V-3081 Hose Assembly at test tap (9).
Assemble the necessary fittings in order to install a 60000 kPa (8700 psi) gauge and the 8S-8033 Electric Hydraulic Pump.

(10) Tubing assembly. (11) Hose Assembly.
Loosen the eight bolts that are holding the hoses (11) to the tubing (10) . Remove the hoses (11) and plug the hoses.
Install a 5P-0049 Cover. Tighten the eight bolts. Note: When you install the cover, ensure that the rectangular seal is toward the flange for the tubing.
Observe the test gauge. Operate the electric pump. Refer to Table 2 for the correct pressure.
If the pressure is set correctly, remove the two covers from the tubing. Install the two hoses on the flange for the tubing. Tighten the bolts. If the pressure is not set correctly, proceed to Step 11.
Lower the bucket to the ground. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Release any pressure in the hydraulic system. Reference: For more information about releasing the hydraulic pressure in the system, Refer to the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release" for the machine that is being serviced.
Refer to Illustration 2 in order to locate the raise line relief valve.
In order to adjust the raise line relief valve, refer to Section "Adjusting the Dump Line Relief Valve and the Tilt Back Line Relief Valve".
When the adjustment of the line relief valve is complete, remove the cover. Install hose (11) to the flange for tubing (10). Adjusting the Dump Line Relief Valve and the Tilt Back Line Relief Valve
