If either a heater or HVAC system is installed, remove the panel just above the HVAC filter.Note: Remove and discard the currently installed gas struts from the machine. Do not forget to support the cab with a joist or other lifting device while removing the current gas struts and also while installing the new gas spring assembly (21).
Install gas spring assembly (21) with gas spring cylinder on frame end. Ensure that the frame end is the side of gas spring assembly (21) that does not retract.

Follow the procedure to install the left-hand upper portion of gas spring assembly (21) as shown in step 1 of "Installation of the Gas Struts".
