Typical example of weld run-off tabs
Weld in position run off tabs at the start and at the stop of the repair area in order for the weld to start and stop outside the repair area. Refer to Illustration 6.
Preheat the repair area prior to welding. Refer to Table 4 for the correct temperature.Note: Do not let the temperature of the repair area drop below the recommended temperature.

Fully weld 345-0058 Plate-RH (5). Refer to Illustration 7, Illustration 8, and Table 5.Note: 345-0059 Plate-LH for the left side.Note: Alternate the (W2) weld from the inside then the outside in order to keep 345-0058 Plate-RH (5) straight.Note: After each weld run, needle peen the weld in order to stress relieve the repair area.Note: Inspect the weld after each run, if required remove any area that shows signs of a lack of penetration, porosity, or undercutting.Note: Welding the bottom of the lift arm support may be required in order for the vertical weld joints to be fully welded.

Using a suitable thermal covering, cover the repair area in order to regulate the cooling of the repair area. Refer to Table 6.

Remove the brace and the run off tabs that were installed in Step 11 and Step 12. Grind flush the area.

Ensure that top surface (F) and bottom surface (G) have a smooth flowing profile and are seamless. Add weld and grind flush as required.
Ultrasound the repair area if required.

Use a suitable straight edge in order to check the outside of 345-0058 Plate-RH (5) for straightness. Refer to Illustration 10. Straighten as required.
Check the lift arm front frame bore diameters and alignment. Refer to Service Manual, "Dimensions for Front Frames".

Install three plugs (1) that were retained in Step 2.
Prime and paint the repair area.
Install the lift arms. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Arms - Install".
Install the lift arm support pins. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Arm Support Pins - Remove and Install".
Ensure both left and right side safety pins touch the safety pin supports at the same time. Remove material as required.
Raise and lower the lift
