Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Open the engine hood.

Loosen clamp (1) and remove exhaust pipe (2) .

Loosen muffler clamp (3) .

Attach a suitable hoist and a suitable lifting sling to muffler assembly (4), as shown.

Remove two bolts (5), the washers, and the nuts from the muffler support bracket.
Use the hoist in order to remove the muffler assembly. The weight of the muffler assembly is 23 kg (50 lb).Installation Procedure

Use a suitable hoist and a suitable lifting sling in order to install the muffler assembly. The weight of the muffler assembly is 23 kg (50 lb).

Install two bolts (5), the washers, and the nuts on the muffler support bracket.
