The Work Area Vision System (WAVS) is a closed circuit television system that is designed to supplement the view for the operator during machine operation. The WAVS on this machine has a front-mounted camera, a rear-mounted camera, a side-mounted camera, and a cab-mounted monitor.

Consult your Caterpillar dealer before any adjustments are made to any of the cameras.Prior to operating the machine, ensure that the features of the display are properly adjusted. Ensure that the brightness and the contrast are adjusted prior to operating the machine. Ensure that the brightness and the contrast are adjusted after changes in the conditions for ambient light.Prior to operating the machine, ensure that the display is positioned to provide clear visibility of the display from the operator seat. Do not position the display in a way that will cause the following conditions:
Cover any safety messages or other important information.
Impede the entry to the cab or impede the exit from the cab.
Obstruct the visibility of the operator.
Obstruct the view of any indicators, gauges, or monitoring system.
Impair access to any operator controls or impair movement of any operator controls.Prior to operating the machine, ensure that the camera lenses and the display are clean.Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8157, "Work Area Vision System" for additional information about WAVS.
