Moldboard Hydraulics Operational Diagram, FLOAT Position
(1) Moldboard control valve. (2) Shuttle valve. (3) Moldboard cylinders. (4) Pressure reducing valve. (5) Needle valve. (6) Pressure gauge. (7) From auxiliary pump. (8) To hydraulic tank. (9) Relief valve.Hydraulic oil from auxiliary pump (7) flows through the auxiliary filter to the moldboard control valve. When moldboard control valve (1) is at FLOAT, hydraulic oil flow through the control valve is blocked and the rod end of moldboard cylinders (3) is opened through the moldboard control valve to tank (8).Hydraulic oil pressure from pressure reducing valve (4) flows to shuttle valve (2). This forces the shuttle valve ball up to prevent the oil from flowing to the control valve. Oil flows through the open passage in the shuttle valve to th head end of the moldboard cylinders. This keeps the moldboard in contact with the freshly cut surface. Pressure gauge (6) allows the output pressure from the pressure reducing valve to be read during adjustment. Needle valve (5) allows the pressure gauge to be isolated from the circuit to prevent damage to the gauge when the machine is working. Relief valve (9) prevents damage to the system by allowing oil to flow back to the tank.
Moldboard Hydraulics Operational Diagram, UP Position
(1) Moldboard control valve. (2) Shuttle valve. (3) Moldboard cylinders. (4) Pressure reducing valve. (5) Needle valve. (6) Pressure gauge. (7) From auxiliary pump. (8) To hydraulic tank. (9) Relief valve.Oil from the auxiliary pump (7) flows to pressure reducing valve (4) and moldboard control valve.Moving moldboard control valve (1) to the UP position sends 17 000 kPa (2500 psi) hydraulic oil from the control valve B port to the rod end of moldboard cylinders (3) to raise the moldboard.Return oil from the head end of the cylinders flows through shuttle valve (2) to relief valve (9). When the oil pressure reaches 1200 pKa (175 psi), the relief valve opens. This allows the oil to flow to tank (8).Pressure gauge (6) allows the output pressure from the pressure reducing valve to be read during adjustment. Needle valve (5) allows the pressure gauge to be isolated from the circuit to prevent damage to the gauge when the machine is working.
Moldboard Hydraulics Operational Diagram, DOWN Position
(1) Moldboard control valve. (2) Shuttle valve. (3) Moldboard cylinders. (4) Pressure reducing valve. (5) Needle valve. (6) Pressure gauge. (7) From auxiliary pump. (8) To hydraulic tank. (9) Relief valve.During machine operation, hydraulic oil from auxiliary pump (7) flows through the auxiliary filter to moldboard control valve (1) and to pressure reducing valve (4).When the moldboard control valve is moved to DOWN position, 17 000 kPa (2500 psi) hydraulic oil flows from the control valve A port to shuttle valve (2). Oil forces the shuttle valve ball down to prevent flow to relief valve (9).The hydraulic oil flows through an open passage in the shuttle valve to the head end of moldboard cylinders (3). This moves the moldboard downward. Return oil from the rod end of the cylinders flows
