3406B (PEEC) EnginesThe new 8T5282 PEEC DDT Group is available from the Caterpillar Parts Department. It is a diagnostic tool for use with the 3406B (PEEC) Engine. The 8T5282 PEEC DDT Group includes the Digital Diagnostic Tool programmed for use with the 3406B PEEC, an 8T5275 Adapter Cable Assembly (T-Harness Cable), 8T8726 Adapter Cable Assembly (3-Pin Breakout), and the 8T5277 Probe Cable. Special Instruction, Form SEHS8743, is included and explains how to use the 8T5282 PEEC Digital Diagnostic Tool Group for servicing the 3406B (PEEC) Engine.
The 8T5282 PEEC DDT Group provides diagnostic displays, vehicle and engine status displays, and displays for calibrating 3406B PEEC sensors. The PEEC DDT also displays and permits modification, with the correct password, of 3406B PEEC Customer Specified Parameters, such as Vehicle Speed Limit and Progressive Shift Points. A PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) sensor mode permits the PEEC DDT to measure sensor outputs, which cannot be read with a standard digital voltmeter.
