The fore-boom valve group needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing valve group can fail and cause the fore-boom to fall. The sudden drop of the fore-boom may, in conjunction with other factors or circumstances, result in a risk of personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.

Rework Procedure
Place the machine on a flat surface, place the boom/stick on the ground before removing any hydraulic lines.
Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release", for your machine, in order to release the system pressure.
Assemble the new 388-4686 Check Valve Group (E) for appropriately draining the fore-boom 329-7252 Valve Group.
1. On the swing drive, disconnect the threaded 90 degree end of 333-7979 Hose Assembly (1 7/16 inch). Refer to Image1.1.1.

2. Install a 6V-9833 Cap Assembly. Refer to Image1.2.1.

3. Disconnect the 275-1380 Hose Assembly. Assemble the new 388-4686 Check Valve Group using the 7X-2543 Bolts and 4J-0522 O-Ring Seal. Assemble the 275-1380 Hose Assembly to the new 388-4686 Check Valve Group. Refer to Image1.3.1.

4. Assemble the 6V-8635 Adapter with a 7M-8485 O-Ring Seal and 5K-9090 O-Ring Seal to then new 388-4686 Check Valve Group. Refer to Image1.4.1.

5. Assemble the 333-7979 Hose Assembly to the 6V-8835 Adapter on the new 388-4686 Check Valve Group. Refer to Image1.5.1.
