Note: The approximate coil resistance of the solenoid is 5 ohms at 25 °C (77 °F).This diagnostic code is associated with the proportional solenoid (control to tank for hoist rod end). The FMI 05 diagnostic code means that the electronic control module (ECM) has determined that the current of the solenoid is below normal.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The energize circuit of the solenoid is open.
The return circuit of the solenoid is open.
The solenoid has failed.
The ECM has failed.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 1240 FMI 05 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use a calibrated 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:The hoist system will not be able to raise the body in the first stage of the cylinders. The machine may not be able to raise the bed.The hoist system will have normal operation in the lower mode, float mode and the hold mode.When the diagnostic goes away, the following occurs:
The ECM will continue to command this output OFF until the hoist system goes into the lower mode, float mode or hold mode.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID
Turn on the disconnect switch and the key start switch. Do not start the engine.
Disconnect the solenoid with the active diagnostic code from the harness.
At the harness connector for the solenoid, place a jumper wire from contact 1 (wire J827-GN(Green)) to contact 2 (wire H861-PU(Purple)).
