Certain 950K and 962K Medium Wheel Loaders may have coolant elbows fail. Multiple failures of the 322-0955 Hose (Coolant Elbow) have been reported on 950K and 962K Medium Wheel Loaders. This hose is located at the Thermostat outlet no top of the Radiator. Several failures reference cracks or cuts in the hose requiring hose replacement as opposed to a simple clamp tightening that is common with this type of joint.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been defined. Replace and retain parts (elbow and clamps). In case of water coolant leaks on the elbow at engine side, replace existing 216-4983 Clamp with new 8T-4984 Clamp . Caterpillar will request that the parts be returned to engineering. Take a picture of condition prior to repair and attach the picture to the SIMS report.
