Oil Level Sight Gauges

Ensure that the machine is parked on a level surface with the engine stopped. Ensure that the transmission control is in the PARK position.
Ensure that the oil level is at or above yellow range (A) in upper sight gauge (2) before starting the engine.
If necessary, add oil. The torque converter oil and transmission oil is added at filler tube (1).Oil Cold (Ambient Temperature) with Engine Running (Low Idle)
Ensure that the machine is parked on a level surface with the engine at low idle. Ensure that the transmission control is in the PARK position.
Activate the machine lockout control. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Machine Lockout Control" for more information.
Maintain the oil level must be within green range (C) in lower sight gauge (3).
If necessary, add oil. The torque converter oil and transmission oil is added at filler tube (1).Oil Hot (Operating Temperature) with Engine Running (Low Idle)
Ensure that the machine is parked on a level surface with the engine at low idle. Ensure that the transmission control is in the PARK position.

Ensure that the machine is parked on a level surface. Ensure that the transmission control is in the PARK position.
Remove oil level gauge (4).
Inspect the oil level gauge to determine the oil level.

Maintain the oil level within operating range (X), between the "ADD" mark and the "FULL" mark on the oil level gauge.
When the engine is stopped and the oil is cold (ambient temperature), maintain the oil level on the "ENGINE STOPPED" side of the oil level gauge.
When the engine is running and the oil is warm (operating temperature), maintain the oil level on the "ENGINE LOW IDLE" side of the oil level gauge.Note: Due to possible misreading of the oil level caused by oil smearing, the oil level should be recorded on the first pull from the oil level gauge tube. Do not wipe the oil level gauge clean to check oil level.
