Removal Procedure
Start By:
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Open grill assembly (2). Repeat for the opposite side.
Remove shield assemblies (1).

Disconnect hose assembly (6). Remove bolts (8) and position elbow assembly (7) out of the way.
Remove bolts (3) and (5). Remove housing assembly (4).

Remove O-ring (9), O-ring seals (10), water temperature regulators (11), and lip seals (12) from housing assembly (4). Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Install lip seals (12), water temperature regulators (11), O-ring seals (10), and O-ring (9) into housing assembly (4).

Position housing assembly (4). Install bolts (5) and (3).
Install the O-ring seal, elbow assembly (7), and bolts (8). Connect hose assembly (6).

Install shield assemblies (1).
Close grill assembly (2). Repeat for the opposite side.
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
