Put plate (31) and nine pistons (32) in position on the cylinder block.
Illustration 17 g00675388
If cup (33) was removed, install the cup in valve block (34) with Tool (A) .
If pin (35) was removed, install the pin in the valve block.Note: If the shaft bearings, the shaft, the valve block, or the housing were replaced, a preload adjustment must be made. If none of these parts were replaced, use the original spacer to provide the preload adjustment.
Check the shaft preload adjustment that is listed below.
Illustration 18 g00675390
Install the thickest spacer (36) on shaft (5) with the chamfer on the spacer toward the shoulder on the shaft.
Illustration 19 g00675392
Install bearing (37) on the shaft.
Illustration 20 g00675393
Put valve block (34) in position on housing (1), and install the bolts that hold the valve block in place. Do not tighten the bolts.
Rotate the shaft in order to seat the bearings and tighten the six bolts that hold the valve block to the housing to a torque of .06 N m (5.0 pound inch).
Use feeler gauge (38) to measure the gap between the valve block and the housing in four places. Average the four measurements by adding the measurements together and dividing by four.
Calculate the spacer thickness as listed in the example below.+ 3.81 mm (0.150 inch) measured thickness of spacer- 0.69 mm (0.027 inch) average gap+ 0.08 0.03 mm (0.003 0.001 inch) preload setting+ 0.51 mm (.020 inch) compressed thickness of gasket= 3.71 mm (0.146 0.001 inch) correct spacer thickness to provide proper preload
Remove the valve block from the housing.
Remove the bearing and the spacer from the shaft.
Illustration 21 g00675395
Put cylinder block (24) and spacer (36) in position on shaft (5). The chamfer on the spacer must be toward the shoulder on the shaft.
Illustration 22 g00675402
Install bearing (37) on the shaft.
Put gasket (39) in position on housing (1) .
Illustration 23 g00675409
Put rod (42) in position in the valve block, and install snap ring (41) on the rod. Put O-ring seal (40) in position in the groove in rod (42) .
Illustration 24 g00675432
Install piston (44) on the rod.
Align the notch in wafer plate (43) with pin (35), and install the wafer plate on valve block (34) .
Put valve block (34) in position on housing (1), and install the six bolts that hold the valve block.
Cross torque the bolts to bring the valve block, the gasket and the housing together. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 33 2 N m (24.0 1.0 lb ft).
Illustration 25 g00675438
Put spool (50), seat (45), spring (51), pin (46) and screw (47) in position in compensator (49) .
Install the O-ring seal on plug (48), and install the plug.
Illustration 26 g00675443
Put spool (52), seat (56) and spring (53) in position in the compensator.
Install the backup ring and the O-ring seal on plug (57) and install the plug.
Put gasket (55) in position on compensator (49) .
Illustration 27 g00675451
Put compensator (49) in position on the pump and install the bolts that hold the compensator.End By: Install the equipment pump.
