Typical Example 1. Remove six nuts (1) and three bolts (2). Use a screwdriver, and pry crankshaft rear seal assembly (3) out and off of the six studs.2. Remove O-ring seal (4) located behind the crankshaft rear seal assembly. The following steps are for the installation of the crankshaft rear seal assembly. Leave the shipping sleeve in place to install the crankshaft rear seal assembly. The rear crankshaft seal must be installed dry.3. Thoroughly clean the seal surface area on the crankshaft. Position O-ring seal (4) on the back of crankshaft rear seal assembly (3) as shown in the illustration. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.4. Position the crankshaft rear seal assembly over the crankshaft and the studs. Then, push the crankshaft rear seal assembly into place dislodging the shipping sleeve. Install the six washers and nuts (1).5. Apply 5P3413 Pipe Sealant to the threads of three bolts (2). Install three bolts (2) at the bottom of the crankshaft rear seal assembly. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft).End By:a. install flywheel
