Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Cooling System Drain and Fill: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove bolts (1) and reposition hydraulic oil cooler (2) .

Disconnect hose (3) .

Remove bolts (7) from water pump (6) .
Remove front cover (9). Remove gasket (8) from front cover (9) .
Tap water pump (6) with a soft hammer in order to loosen water pump (6). Remove water pump (6) from front housing (4) .
Remove gasket (5) from water pump (6) .Installation Procedure
Install water pump (6) in the reverse order of removal.
