Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The main relief valve is in the main control valve for the scraper. The main relief valve is near the oil line connection from the pump.To check the pressure setting of the relief valve, use the 8T-0859 Pressure Gauge , 27600 kPa (4000 psi) and a 6V-3965 Nipple Assembly .

Remove plug (3) . Install the 6V-3965 Nipple Assembly at this location. Install the pressure gauge in the pressure tap.
Start the engine and run the engine at high idle.
Look at the pressure gauge. Move the control lever for the apron to the RAISE position. Keep the control lever in that position. The high reading on the pressure gauge is the pressure setting of the relief valve.
The correct pressure setting of the relief valve is 15000 350 kPa (2175 50 psi) .If you must change the setting of the relief valve, loosen nut (2) and turn retainer assembly (1) . One complete turn of retainer assembly (1) will change the pressure approximately 7000 kPa (1015 psi) .Apron Sequence
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

An 8T-0857 Pressure Gauge with a pressure reading of 13800 kPa (2000 psi)
6V-3014 Hose
Use the correct size plate assembly with the necessary fittings.
Install the plate assembly on the left side of the draft frame in
