Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

Remove four bolts (1) and nuts.

Remove four bolts (2) and drive shaft (3). The weight of drive shaft (3) is 13.6 kg (30 lb).

Remove two clips (4) .
Separate drive shaft (3) .
Remove boot (5) .

Remove the spider and bearing assembly with a suitable press. Remove flange yoke (7) .
Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the opposite end.Installation Procedure

Install flange yoke (7). Install the spider and bearing assembly with a suitable press.

Install four clips (6) .
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the opposite end.

Install boot (5) .
Connect drive shaft (3) .
Install two clips (4) .

Note: The end with the boot is assembled to rear of the machine.
Install drive shaft (3) with four bolts (2). The torque for bolts (2) is 105 20 N m (77 15 lb ft).

Install four bolts (1) and nuts. The torque for bolts (1) is 105 20 N m (77 15 lb ft).
Lubricate the drive shaft. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7208, "908 Compact Wheel Loaders" for the correct procedure.End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
