This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM reads the input signal from the Implement Pilot Supply Sensor and the PWM duty cycle is above normal.The sensor is a PWM sensor that operates at a frequency of approximately 500Hz 100Hz. The sensor sends a PWM input signal to the ECM. The duty cycle of the signal will vary from 2% to 98%.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
There is an open in the sensor circuit.
The signal circuit is shorted to another circuit.
The sensor has failed.
The ECM has failed. This condition is unlikely.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear the diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 0434 FMI 03 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:
The events related to this sensors signal will not work properly. Test Step 1. CHECK FOR POWER AT THE SENSOR.
Do not disconnect the harness connector from the sensor.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
At the back of the harness connector for the sensor, insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the voltage supply wire (contact 1).
Measure the voltage from contact 1 to frame ground.Expected Result:The voltage is between 8.0 0.4 VDC.Results:
