(1) Oil level plug
(2) Oil drain plug
Position the final drive so that oil drain plug (2) is at the bottom. Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for information on Containing Fluid Spillage.
Remove oil level plug (1).
Obtain a sample of the final drive oil through the hole for the oil level plug.
Install oil level plug (1). Refer to Special Publication, SEBU6250, "Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations", "S O S Oil Analysis" for more information on obtaining a sample of the final drive oil. For additional information about taking an oil sample, refer to Special Publication, PEGJ0047, "How To Take A Good Oil Sample".
