It has been reported that the "Application Error" dialog box will not clear on some machines. Therefore, the display cannot be detected in Cat® Electronic Technician WinFlash. If this event occurs, perform the following steps:

(1) Product Link fuse
Temporarily disable Product Link by switching off the battery disconnect switch and removing the Product Link fuse (1) on the left side of the cab.
Switch the battery back on and turn the key switch to the ON position. With Product Link disabled, the "Application Error" dialog box on the display should disappear.
Now connect to the secondary display using the Ethernet and flash the new software.
After successfully flashing the software, turn the key switch to the OFF position and switch the battery disconnect switch back off.
Install the Product Link fuse and then switch the battery disconnect back on. The machine is now ready for service.
