ADAPTER AS 4N3862 - Caterpillar

1. Position the tractor with wooden blocks under the idler wheels and drive wheels as shown.2. Release the air pressure in air spring (2).3. Remove the core from valve (1).4. Attach a nylon strap to the arm assembly. Use a lift truck, or suitable lifting device, to raise the arm assembly, and compress air spring (2).5. Remove four nuts (3).6. Lower the arm assembly, and remove air spring (2) from between the arm assemblies. The following steps are for installation of the air springs.7. Position air spring (2) between the arm assemblies.8. Use the lift truck to raise the arm assembly until four nuts (3) can be installed on the studs of air spring (2). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft).9. Remove the nylon strap, and install the core in valve (1). Inflate the air spring to a pressure of 427 34 kPa (62 5 psi).10. Remove the wooden blocks from under the idler wheels and drive wheels of the tractor.
