This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8826" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the March 4, 1997 (Revised June 1997) Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Termination Date.

Certain 3116 and 3126 HEUI Engines that have 1249714 or 1136110 Jumper Tubes may crack on the injector side. If a crack occurs the engine can be shut down due to an oil leak in the high pressure system. Warning signals are: multiple 164-11 events, hard hot starting, low power, and/or an inability of the hydraulic oil pressure to maintain the desired level- (actual does not equal desired).
Certain 3116 and 3126 Engines could also experience fuel filter seal leaks. This can result from debris blocking the internal orifice in the fuel return line at the rear of the cylinder head.

Affected Product
An additional 1.6 hours should be added using SMCS Code 1714-500 if the rework is performed in a motor home, cab type (RV).

Cracked Jumper Tubes
1. Remove the 1136145 Tapered Seat and install a 1136091 Spherical Seat.2. Use a new 1355980 Tube. Scrap the used tube and the 1136145 Tapered Seat.3. Place a 1077808 and 9M1974 Clamp Washer beneath the 8T0292 Bolt, insuring the 9M1974 Washer is on top of the 1077808 Washer.4. Position the 1136091 Seat on the center of the injector top.5.
