Information:

Note: Ensure that the hoses are routed correctly and that the hoses are secure. Ensure that the hoses have no restriction or distortion. If the hoses are not routed correctly the hoses may become damaged. Ensure that all the hose clamps are installed correctly and that all the hose ends are sealed. Dirt and other debris must be prevented from entering the engine and causing damage to the engine. Refer to drawing 280-8365 Air Lines Gp for the torque specifications.Installation Procedure

Disconnect the old breather hose (2) from adapter (3) and the inlet hose. Disconnect the old inlet hose (4) from the turbocharger (1) and the air cleaner (5) for removal.

Remove bolts (6) and cap nuts (7) that attach valve mechanism cover (9) to base (10). Remove the valve mechanism cover from the base.

Remove screws (12) and retaining plate (13). Clean any residual sealant from the valve mechanism cover after the retaining plate has been removed.

Install the new 320-8401 Retaining Plate (14). Do not use sealant when the new retaining plate is installed. Use the original screws (12). Tighten the screws to a torque of 1.5 N m (13 lb in).
Install the new 233-0695 Valve Cover Seal (11) to the valve mechanism cover. Assemble the valve mechanism cover to the base. Install bolts (6) and cap nuts (7). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in). Tighten the cap nuts to a torque of 14 N m (10 lb ft).Note: When the cap nuts are installed use new 190-3762 Washer (8) .

Attach 75 cm (29.5 inch) long 5P-1505 hose (15) to adapter (3). Use the 5P-4961 hose clamp (16) to seal the breather. Tighten the clamp to a torque of 7.5 N m (66 lb in). Refer to illustration 5 for the correct route of the hose.

Mark breather hose (15) 34.5 cm (13.5 inch) from the adapter for the breather. Attach the breather hose to the cylinder head at the 34.5 cm (13.5 inch) mark. Use the 280-8341 Spacer (18), 6D-4246 Clip (19), 5P-4116 Washer (20) and the 7X-2537 Bolt (21). Tighten the 7X-2537 Bolt to a torque of 15 N m (11 lb ft). Attach the breather hose to the engine block with the 6D-4246 Clip (22), 8T-4121 Washer (23) and the 7X-2621 Bolt (24). Tighten the bolt to a torque of 30 N m (22 lb ft). Use a cable strap (17) to attach the breather hose to the fuel return hose. The cable strap prevents the fuel return hose from rubbing the replacement breather hose.

Attach 280-8364 Hose (26) to turbocharger (1) with 5P-0597 Hose Clamp (25). Ensure that the hose is sealed. Tighten the clamp to a torque of 7.5 N m (66 lb in). Attach the other end of the 280-8364 Hose (26) to air cleaner outlet (5). Use 5P-4868 Hose Clamp (27) to
