When testing must be done in a closed area, activate the brakes and use blocks to prevent the machine from moving during the tests. Let only approved personnel on the machine. Keep other personnel off the machine and in view of the operator.
All tests and adjustments must be made with the oil in the hydraulic control system at normal operating temperature. Be sure the linkage adjustments are correct before making any tests.
Do not operate the machine with the universal joint removed. The force of hydraulic pressure on the output shaft will cause the shaft to move out of the torque divider. The result is a rapid loss of hydraulic oil.
Selector Valve And Control Linkage Adjustments
Do not make any adjustments to selector valve or control linkage with engine running.
Adjustment of Selector Valve Spools
Before adjustments are made, make sure nuts (4), (8), and (13) are tightened to a torque of 25 3 lb. ft. (35 4 N m).1. Disconnect the control linkage levers from vertical shaft (3) and horizontal shaft (5).
