Remove the Water Separator

Care must be taken in order to ensure that fluids are contained during inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Refer to, NENG2500, "Tools And Shop Products Guide". Dispose of fluids according to local regulations.Note: Mark all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for identification purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes in order to prevent foreign material from entering the system.Note: Drain all fluids into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Use Tool (A) in order to remove water separator (1) .

Disconnect two tube assemblies (3) and (4) from the water separator. Plug the tube assemblies.
Remove two bolts and washers (5) that hold the water separator to the engine.
Remove breather assembly (2) and the O-ring seal from the water separator. Remove the O-ring seal from breather assembly (2) .Install the Water Separator
Check the condition of the gasket on water separator (1) . Replace the gasket if the gasket is worn or damaged. Check the O-rings on breather assembly (2) and tube assemblies (3) and (4) . Replace the O-rings if the O-rings are damaged or worn.
Put the water separator and the gasket into position. Install two bolts and washers (5) .

Connect two tube assemblies (3) and (4) to the water separator.
Install the O-ring seal onto breather assembly (2) . Install the O-ring seal and breather assembly (2) onto the water separator. Tighten the bolt that holds the breather assembly in place to a torque of 7 2 N m (5.2 1.5 lb ft) .
