The crankshaft assembly, connecting rod assembly, and connecting rod bearings are different than those used in 3406 (70V) Machine Engines. The (11N) engines use wider connecting rod bearings, which made it necessary to change the connecting rods and crankshaft.

When installing the 9Y6400 Rod Assembly: 1. Lubricate bolt and nut threads and the seating faces the rod cap with engine oil.2. Tighten each nut to a torque of 80 5 N m (60 4 lb ft).3. Tighten each nut an additional 120 5 degrees.
When installing the 7E5996 Rod Assembly: 1. Lubricate the bolt threads and seating faces of the rod cap with 4C5590 Thread Lubricant/Anti-Seize.2. Tighten each bolt to a torque of 90 8 N m (65 6 lb ft).3. Tighten each bolt an additional 90 5 degrees.
