Side forces created during roller movement results in rapid wear of the bushing area of the switch.
Wear of the bushing creates drag on the roller shaft each time the roller moves in and out of the slot. The result may be short life of the switch and or problems with free movement of the shift control lever in or out of the neutral position.
When replacing the 9X0023 Switch, grind a 1/16 inch radius in the slotted holes. This can be done with a 3/4inch diameter grinder wheel or appropriate pencil grinder. If the grinder wheel is used, deburr the slots afterwards. Use the procedure in the Reference to adjust the switches.
