Install piece of tape (7) from Tool (A) on a fan blade.Note: Check for existing tape on the fan blade or on the fan hub. More than one piece of tape will cause inaccurate readings.

Disconnect solenoid connector (8) from the fan motor.

Remove diagnostic port access cover (9).

Remove the diagnostic port cap, and connect Tool (C3) to diagnostic port (10).Test Procedure

Move engine start switch (3) into the ON position. When the "Wait to start engine" message disappears from display (11), move the engine start switch to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.
Launch the Plus+1TM program on the computer.Note: First-time users need to perform the tasks in the Communication and Connections Wizard. This wizard allows the WindowsR operating system to recognize the USB device. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Read and understand the instructions in the "1" section.
Click the "Folder" icon (12) on the menu bar or click "Folder" icon (13) under "Open Diagnostics" file.

Select "Machine Control" (14).

Click "Throttle Test" (15).

Click "Throttle Test" (16). Click "Enable" (17).

If necessary, use automatic speed control increase switch (18) to set the speed control command to "100%" as indicated on the display.
Move parking brake switch (2) to the OFF position.
Move propel control lever (1) to the full forward position. The engine speed should be 2310 50 rpm.

Under "Machine Control" (19), click "Hydraulics" (20).,
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature. Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches a minimum of 45 °C (113 °F).
Read fan speed on Tool (A).
Refer to "Specifications", Table2 for the maximum fan speed.
Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position to operate the engine at low idle.
Repeat Step 11 through Step 13.
Refer to "Specifications", Table2 for the minimum fan speed.
Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.
Allow the engine to operate at low idle for 5 minutes. Move engine start switch (3) to the OFF position.
If the fan speed is greater than the specification, replace the fan motor solenoid, and retest. If the fan speed is less than the specification, test the charge pressure. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, Relief Valve (Charge) - Test and Adjust. Evaluate the results as follows:
If the charge pressure is low, check the fan pump flow. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, Gear Pump Flow (Radiator Cooling) - Test.
If the charge pressure is correct, replace the fan motor solenoid, and retest the fan speed.
If the fan motor solenoid has been replaced but the fan speed remains outside the specification, repair or replace the fan motor.Note: The fan speed must be calibrated if the fan solenoid is replaced, or if the fan motor is repaired or replaced. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, Fan Motor Speed (Radiator Cooling) - Calibrate in this module.
Disconnect tooling from diagnostic port (10).
Install diagnostic port access cover (9).
Connect fan motor solenoid connector (8) to the fan motor solenoid.

Move hood support bracket (6) in the stored position.
Close engine hood (4) and secure latch (5).
