Note : Before assembling the crankshaft into the cylinder block, lubricate the main bearing journals with clean engine oil.
Note : The thrust plates should be used only on the rear main bearing.
- - - Maximum crankshaft deflection is 0.03 mm (0.001 inch).
A 1 146-3173 Dowel Extension is 9.0 0.5 mm (0.35 0.02 inch).

4 34 237-8306 Bolt As Use the following procedure to tighten the bolt assemblies (4):
Note : Do not reuse the counterweight bolts. Tighten the counterweight bolts evenly.
1. Lubricate the threads of the bolts, shank, the contact surface under the bolt head and the washer with 6V-4876 Lubricant.
2. Tighten to 220 20 N m (162 15 lb ft).
3. Again, rotate each bolt to 90 5 degrees.
D 14 095-0893 Spring Pin Maximum extension is 8 mm (0.3 inch).
