ADAPTER 6J0212 - Caterpillar

1. Remove cowl cover (3), cover assembly (1) and door assembly (2) from the generator. 2. Remove terminal marker (4) from the regulator terminal strip.3. Disconnect wires (5) (F1 and F2) from the regulator terminal strip. 4. Pull wires (5) from the generator and put the wires in the position as shown. 5. Disconnect wires (6) from the bridge rectifier. Remove bolts (7) that hold the heat sink assemblies to the bridge recitfier yoke. 6. Put the heat sink assemblies in the position as shown. Remove four bolts (8) from main exciter field (9) and remove the field from the generator. The weight of the main exciter field is 36 kg (80 lb.).Install Main Exciter Field
1. Install two 5/16"-18 NC guide bolts in the bracket assembly. Make sure the heat sink assemblies are in the position as shown and put main exciter field (1) in position on the guide bolts. Install two of the bolts that hold the field in position and remove the guide bolts. Install the remainder of the bolts. 2. Install bolts (5) and the washers that hold the heat sink assemblies to the bridge rectifier yoke. Connect wires (3) to the bridge rectifier.
Wires (4) must be installed through plastic strap (2) to prevent damage to the wires by the rotor assembly.
3. Put wires (4) in position in the generator.4. Connect wires (4) (F1 and F2) to the regulator terminal strip. 5. Install terminal marker (6) on the regulator terminal strip. 6. Install door assembly (8), cover assembly (7) and cowl cover (9) on the generator.
