Keep engine speed low until the engine oil pressure registers on the gauge. If it does not register within 15 seconds, stop the engine and investigate the cause before starting the engine again. Failure to do so can cause engine damage.
Note: The screed heating may be activated during the warm up cycle. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your screed in order to obtain information on heating the screed.
Allow a cold engine to warm up at LOW IDLE for at least five minutes. Operate attachment controls in order to help speed the warm-up of the hydraulic components.Note: The engine has two LOW IDLE speeds. If the generator is activated, the engine LOW IDLE speed will be 1500 rpm. If the generator is not activated, the engine LOW IDLE speed will be 1000 rpm.
Look at the operator's panels frequently during the operation of the machine. If any of the gauges do not function properly, stop the engine. Inspect the electrical system or the machine system in order to find the cause of the malfunctioning gauge. Perform necessary repairs prior to starting the machine again.
Test all the controls. Check the controls for proper operation.
