Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock.

Remove bolts (1) .
Remove guard (2) .

Note: Steering shaft assembly (6) must be separated from lever (3) in order to remove steering shaft assembly (6) from the machine.
Remove nuts (4), the washers, and the bolts that hold flange (5) to lever (3) .
Remove steering shaft assembly (6) from lever (3) .

Remove the nut and bolt (8) .
Remove bottom shaft yoke (7) from the shaft of steering pilot valve (9) .

Note: The key that is on the shaft of the steering pilot valve and the keyway of bottom shaft yoke (7) must face toward the front of the machine.
Position steering shaft assembly (6). Install shaft yoke (7) on the shaft of the steering pilot valve. Make sure that the key on the shaft of pilot valve (9) fits securely in the keyway that is in the bottom shaft yoke.

Keyway (X) and key (10) should be in the STRAIGHT AHEAD and CENTERED position.

(A) 6.0 1.0 mm (0.24 0.04 inch) dimension.Note:
Lever (3) must be adjusted on the steering column shaft so that 6.0 1.0 mm (0.24 0.04 inch) protrudes below the lever, as shown.
Align the steering column that protrudes below lever (3) with the pilot hole of mounting flange (5) .

Mating surface (B) should have zero clearance.
Push mounting flange (5) onto the steering column until mounting flange (5) is flush with lever (3). There should be no gap between lever (3) and mounting flange (5) .
Install bolts, the washers, and nuts (4) .
The steering wheel should be in a STRAIGHT AHEAD and CENTERED position. Refer to Step 9 for the correct adjustment procedure.
Loosen nuts (4). Adjust the steering wheel to the correct position. Tighten nuts (4) .

Lever (3) must be adjusted on the steering column shaft so that 6.0 1.0 mm (0.24 0.04 inch) protrudes below the lever, as shown.
Align the steering column that protrudes below lever (3) with the pilot hole of mounting flange (5) .

Push mounting flange (5) onto the steering column until mounting flange (5) is flush with lever (3). There should be no gap between lever (3) and mounting flange (5) .
Install bolts, the washers, and nuts (4) .
