This conversion arrangement provides additional brake fluid capacity, and prevents the loss of brake fluid that was formerly vented to the atmosphere through the master cylinder. Use the Service Manual and this instruction to install this conversion.Scraper
(1) Remove bolts (1). Remove cover assembly (2). (2) Fasten two 4V7412 Bosses (3) to 8W263 Reservoir (4) with two 4L6454 Bolts (5) and two 5M2894 Washers. Put the assembly in position as shown, and weld bosses (3) to the frame with a 3.20 mm (0.125") fillet weld all around. Remove the filler plug from master cylinder (6), and install 6S7276 Plug (7). Install 5P4459 Elbow (8) in plug (7). Install 3B7722 Bushing (9) in reservoir (4). Install 5P4423 Elbow (10) in bushing (9). Connect 5P6011 Tube (11) to elbows (8) and (10). Use 8M2772 Clip (12) and original bolt (13) to hold tube (11) in position.(3) Fill the reservoir with brake fluid, then remove the air from the hydraulic brake system. (1) Put 8W262 Angle (1) in position shown, and make a 3.20 mm (0.125") fillet weld along edges (A), (B) and (C). Fasten 8W263 Reservoir (2) to angle (1) with two 4L6454 Bolts (3), four 5M2894 Washers and two 9S8752 Nuts (4). Remove the filler plug from master cylinder (5) and install 6S7276 Plug (6). Install 5P4400 Connector (7) in plug (6). Install 3B7722 Bushing (8) in reservoir (2). Install 5P4423 Elbow (9) in bushing (8). Connect 5P6011 Tube (10) to connector (7) and elbow (9).(2) Fill the reservoir with brake fluid, then remove the air from the hydraulic brake system.
