PROPERLY TAGGING REMAN WARRANTY CLAIM
PARTS/CORES
In September 2002 we released IRM REM02-33 or PELE0938 and a Reman Special Edition
Newsletter explaining the importance of tagging all Reman Warranty Claim Parts/Cores
using the "BLUE TAG" whether they are for Parts Return Request (PRR) or for normal
warranty cores destined for Corinth or the proper destination. Since these announcements,
several dealers have asked if we would reconsider our request. The dealer request is to
continue using the "BLUE TAG" for PRR's, but allow them to continue to use their "red" or
"blue" or "green" tags for normal warranty cores. This helps keep PRR's separately
identified from normal warranty cores and also allows procedures with the TEPS dealers to
remain the same. The answer is yes. As long as each dealer is properly tagging the
individual warranty parts/cores, we will allow dealers to retain their current procedure.
Please note that many dealers fail to properly tag the individual parts/cores. Some dealers are
only marking the case. Others are not even doing that. No tags or tagging only the case is
not good enough and is an unacceptable procedure. We need to visually identify these
warranty cores just like dealers do, in order to pursue sorting and other quality control
efforts.
Again, we prefer the use of the "BLUE" Parts Return Tag (01-003883-13) for PRR's and
normal warranty cores. But, we will accept the dealers current tagging procedure as stated
above. We appreciate everyone's input regarding this issue and future compliance.

Information application describing all reman part/CAF and related information. Also refer to
other CMIS 2 inquiry applications such as Customer Profiles, Inspection Reason Codes,
Inspection Line Inquiry, Add Charge Information, Entitlement Activity, Entitlement Inquiry,
CCR Inquiry, CCR Entry, Shipment Processing; Process Packaging Grief; and Reporting to
properly manage core returns and monitor inspection performance. This information will be
available to all dealers worldwide after your CMIS 2 conversion date. In the meantime,
please continue to use the current CMIS Entitlement Parts Inquiry Screen describing the list
of parts in a Core Acceptability Family (CAF) and related part number detail.
