Illustration 1. Cab Platform.
Illustration 2. Slot Detail C.1. Refer to area A on the cab access platform shown in illustration 1. Add two slots to the treadplate (at locations 1 and 2, Illustration 1) with dimensional specifications as shown in detail C, Illustration 2. Drill two 12 mm (.5 in) holes in the support channel beneath the treadplate to match the slots. Fasten the treadplate to the support channel with two 8T-4195 bolts, four 8T-4222 washers, and two 8T-4133 nuts.
Illustration 3. Slot Detail D.2. Refer to area B on the cab access platform shown in Illustration 1. Add four slots to the treadplate (at locations 3, 4, 5 and 6, Illustration 1) with dimensional specifications as shown in detail D, Illustration 3. Drill four 12 mm (.5 in) holes in the support channel beneath the treadplate to match the slots. Fasten the treadplate to the support channel with four 8T-4195 bolts, eight 8T-4222 washers, and four 8T-4133 nuts.
Illustration 4.
Illustration 5. Slot Detail G.3. Refer to the treadplates (E and F) shown in Illustration 4 on the rear bumper, one on each side. Add two slots (7 and 8) to each treadplate as represented in Illustration 5. The dimensional specifications of the slots are 14.29x25.40 mm (.562x1.000 in).Use four 8X-7075 bracket assemblies to secure the treadplate to the bumper. Also, drill four holes to match the bracket assemblies on the side of the bumper. Fasten the bracket assemblies to the side of the bumper with eight 8T-4136 bolts and eight 8T-4121 washers.4. Remove the rear fender/steps from each side of the machine to perform the next procedure. Refer to SENR4747, Disassembly & Assembly, 994 Wheel Loader Power Train, "Remove and Install Rear Fender".
Illustration 6. 5. Fabricate four support angles (H) (J) (K) and (L) with cross section as shown in Illustration 6 and dimensional specifications as shown in the chart. It will be necessary to cut two pieces of each angle using carbon steel stock. Commercial stock of similar specifications may also be used.
Illustration 7.6. Weld the four support angles (H) (J) (K) and (L) on the underside of the treadplates. The treadplates are located on top of the rear fender as shown in Illustration 7.
Illustration 8.Use a 3 mm (.12 in) fillet weld to attach the angle pieces to the underside of the treadplate as shown in Illustration 8. Use a 25 mm (1.0 in) length of weld on each end and in the center of each angle piece.
Personal injury or death can result from fumes, gases and ultraviolet rays from the weld arc.Welding can cause fumes, burn skin and produce ultraviolet rays.Keep your head out of the fumes. Use ventilation, exhaust at the arc, or both, to keep the fumes and gases from your breathing area. Wear eye,
