G3616 (4CG) EnginesDescription of Change: New exhaust fitting assemblies have replaced former exhaust fitting assemblies on the above 3600 Engines. A typical exhaust fitting assembly is shown in Illustration 1. The new design on the exhaust fitting assemblies eliminates the need for gaskets. Refer to Illustration 2 and Illustration 3 for the design of the new and former exhaust fitting assemblies, respectively. As the result, the flanges on the assemblies are not welded which improves the reliability of the exhaust bellows.Adaptable To: The new 148-0639 Exhaust Fitting Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 2W-7888 Exhaust Fitting Assembly. The new 148-0640 Exhaust Fitting Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7E-0873 Exhaust Fitting Assembly. Both former assemblies have been canceled. The new exhaust fitting assemblies are effective with the engine serial numbers shown in the chart.
