Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.

Open the access door behind the cab.

Open the drain valve (1) on water separator bowl (2). Open vent plug (4) on the base of the priming pump. Allow the water to drain from the water separator bowl into a suitable container.
Remove filter element (3) from the filter base.
Remove the water separator bowl (2) from the filter element. Clean the water separator bowl and the O-ring groove.Note: The water separator bowl is reusable. Do not dispose of the water separator bowl.
Lubricate the O-ring with clean diesel fuel or with clean engine oil. Place the O-ring in the O-ring groove of the water separator bowl.
Install the water separator bowl onto a new filter element hand tight. Do not use tools to tighten the water separator bowl.

Lubricate the top seal on the filter element with clean diesel fuel or with clean engine oil. Install the filter element onto the filter mounting base hand tight.
Prime the fuel system.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime" for the correct procedure.
Start the engine and check for leaks.
Close the access door.
