SUPPLEMENT: 11/05/79SERVICE MAGAZINE, OCTOBER 8, 1979, PAGES 2-7.In the article "Fast Fuel Delivery Couplings And Fast Oil Change Couplings Are Available For All Caterpillar Equipment," a line was left out of the chart on page 3. In the chart and under "Fast Fuel Couplings," the horizontal line which is under part numbers 5D9264 and 5D8418 must be extended to the right side of the chart. Part Number G2266-100 must be above this extended line and Part Number ZZ9A must be below this line. The 5D9264 and 5D8418 Adapters use the G2266-100 dispenser. The 2G9000 Adapter, 7D6005 Nipple and 3P5829 Flange use the ZZ9A dispenser.--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Caterpillar has available attachments used to decrease the time needed for fueling and oil changes. The male couplings for machines are in the parts book, but the female couplings for the service vehicles are not available from Caterpillar. These couplings are adaptable to all Caterpillar machines.
To order the correct female coupling (dispenser for service vehicle), identification of the system on the Caterpillar machines is necessary. There are two systems available for fueling and one for oil changes. They are the Buckeye Automatic Fueling System from Emco Wheaton and the Wiggins Automatic Refueling System from Transamerica Delaval Wiggins Connectors Division. The oil change system is also from Transamerica Delaval Wiggins Connectors Division.
The easiest way to find out which system is on a machine is to look at the receiver (see Illustration 1).
Illustration 1. Wiggins Automatic Refueling System installed on D9H Tractor.The Wiggins receiver (see Illustration 2) has a ring and groove around its body. This ring and groove design permits a push-to-connect, pull-to-disconnect nozzle (see Illustration 3) operation.

Illustration 3. Wiggins ZZ9A Fuel Delivery Nozzle.The Buckeye receiver (see Illustration 4) has three flanges. The nozzle (see Illustration 5) is placed over the flanges on the receiver and turned to lock it in place.
