Information:
Plate shown clamped in place.1. Fabricate a flat plate to cover the three oil ports in the brake or clutch housing. Clamp the plate and O-rings to the housing.2. Install a quick disconnect fitting into the threaded brake pressure port in the brake housing.
D11N Brake shown.3. Connect a FT1845 Hand Pump Group with a 4150 kPa (600 psi) pressure gauge to the brake port fitting. Brake port location will vary with tractor model. Refer to the Service Manual and Parts Book for your specific tractor for the port location.4. Pump oil into the brake module until the gauge reads approximately 2760 kPa (400 psi). This is the point at which the brake should be fully released.5. Check to determine if the brake discs are loose by inserting a screwdriver into the slots on the brake housing.6. Open the relief valve on the pump slowly, until the needle on the pressure gauge starts to move (pressure decrease). The pressure gauge should indicate a reduction (drop) in pressure, and then stop completely (pause). After this pause in pressure, the pressure will again begin to decrease. When the touch-up pressure point is reached, the pressure will drop rapidly. The pressure reading at the point at which the pressure drops rapidly should read between 1725 and 1930 kPa (250 and 280 psi) for all tractor models except D4H and D5H.The pressure reading for D4H and D5H tractors should be between 2105 and 2310 kPa (305 and 335 psi).A touch-up pressure reading of less than the values specified, is an indication of weak Belleville springs. When opening the bleed valve on the pump, it may be necessary to try different valve settings until the ideal bleed rate is found. If the bleed valve opening is too small, it may take a long time to reach the touch-up pressure.7. After rework of a module has been completed, check the touch-up pressure again to make sure the Belleville Springs have the correct load.If a brake component such as a brake disc or separator plate was left out, the touch-up pressure will read low.Belleville Spring Installation
To install Belleville Springs, refer to the Service Manual your particular tractor model.Refer to the following illustrations for the correct Belleville Spring installation position for your particular model tractor.D4H and D5H Installation Of Belleville
