February 28, 1994Problem
The nut on the compressor wheel needs to be tightened on certain 6I0745 and 0R6606 Turbocharger Cartridge Groups and 4P8576 Turbocharger Groups.
Action Required
1. Remove the 7N0239 Nut that holds the compressor wheel on the shaft.2. Clean the excess retaining compound from the threads of the shaft.3. Apply 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer on the threads of the shaft.4. Apply 9S3263 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of the shaft. Either 9S3263 Thread Lock Compound, 9S3265 or 4C9507 Retaining Compound is acceptable. 9S3265 Retaining Compound is serviced by 4C9507 Retaining Compound.
5. Install the nut and tighten to torque of 8 N m (72 lb in).6. After tightening the nut to the above torque, turn it an additional 90 5 degrees.Service Claim Allowances
Submit one claim listing .4 hours of labor at the dealer cost rate for each 6I0745 and 0R6606 Turbocharger Cartridge Group and 4P8576 Turbocharger Group reworked in parts stock.
